William 'Bill' Loyd, Esq.

William “Bill” Loyd, Esq.

William “Bill” Loyd, Esq.

William “Bill” Loyd, Esq., is a distinguished Senior Trial Attorney at Grigor Law Accident & Injury Attorneys, bringing nearly two decades of experience representing seriously injured individuals throughout New York City and Long Island. A seasoned litigator with a proven history of multimillion-dollar recoveries, Mr. Loyd has dedicated his career to advocating for victims of negligence, holding responsible parties accountable, and pursuing the maximum compensation available under the law.

Admitted to practice in New York since 2006, Mr. Loyd has successfully litigated and resolved hundreds of personal injury matters, including complex cases involving catastrophic injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, construction accidents, and wrongful death. His experience spans every stage of litigation, from initial case evaluation and strategic development through discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and jury trial.

Mr. Loyd has secured numerous significant recoveries, including a $3.8 million settlement involving spinal cord injuries, a $2.825 million settlement in a serious burn injury case, and a $1.5 million jury verdict arising from a motorcycle collision. His results reflect his ability to navigate complex liability disputes, develop compelling evidence of damages, and effectively advocate for his clients against insurance carriers and corporate defendants.

Prior to joining Grigor Law, Mr. Loyd operated his own private practice and independently managed a substantial caseload for more than a decade in association with one of New York State’s largest personal injury law firms. This experience strengthened his command of high-stakes litigation, sophisticated negotiation, trial preparation, and the strategic handling of complex personal injury claims.

Mr. Loyd’s distinguished legal background began well before his admission to the New York Bar. He earned his Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, where he served as a law clerk in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office. Before attending law school, he gained experience at the internationally recognized law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Washington, D.C., and with the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice, working in connection with the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training, focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean.

This foundation in both private practice and federal legal institutions provided Mr. Loyd with a sophisticated understanding of litigation, legal analysis, and the preparation of complex cases.

Known for his assertive advocacy, meticulous preparation, and command of medical and technical evidence, Mr. Loyd works extensively with leading medical professionals and specialists in accident reconstruction, biomechanical engineering, vocational rehabilitation, life care planning, functional capacity assessment, and forensic economics. This multidisciplinary approach allows him to develop comprehensive, evidence-driven claims that demonstrate not only the immediate consequences of an injury but also its lasting impact on a client’s health, earning capacity, independence, and quality of life.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Loyd brings a uniquely personal perspective to the practice of personal injury law. Having personally experienced a significant motor vehicle accident, he understands firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial challenges that follow a serious injury. This experience informs his client-centered approach, combining compassionate guidance with aggressive legal representation.

At Grigor Law, Mr. Loyd plays an important role in advancing the firm’s commitment to excellence in trial advocacy, sophisticated case development, and exceptional results for injured New Yorkers.

A Long Island native, Mr. Loyd enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music, and participating in team sports.
